Open Gov Week (OGW)
10 May 2022
Open Gov Week (OGW) is a week dedicated to discussing new ways to respond to citizens’ needs. In 2022 it will take place during the week of 16 to 20 May and is an initiative promoted in over 60 countries with the aim of co-creating ambitious reforms to impact people’s lives.
In Portugal, we also want to celebrate this week with relevant events for public entities, civil society and, of course, our citizens.

During the OGW are debated the fundamental topics of Open Government and, more importantly, partnerships are strengthened and will lead to the fulfilment of the 9 commitments established in the II National Action Plan for Open Administration (2021-2023).
It is crucial that the Public Administration reflects and defines, together with different partners, mechanisms that ensure access and understanding of information so that society and citizens can make more informed decisions, thus creating a truly Open and Transparent Administration.
AMA and LabX participation in OGW derives from Portugal’s joint to this partnership with the Open Government Partnership (OGP). This is a multilateral initiative created in 2011 and aims to ensure commitments by governments to safeguard transparency, promote public participation, fight and prevent corruption and use new technologies to enhance participatory democracy.
