8th Labs Network Meeting

The 8th Meeting of the Network of Laboratories for Innovation and Experimentation in the Public Sector, co-organised by LabX and Oeste +Inovação – Laboratory for Experimentation and Innovation in the Western Region, took place on October 30 at headquarters of the Intermunicipal Community of Oeste – OesteCIM in Caldas da Rainha.

Under the theme ‘Management of Innovation Laboratories and Units’, the event brought together 34 members from 11 laboratories and welcomed two new members: Laboratório de Inovação e Atendimento da Autoridade Tributária e Aduaneira and Laboratório de Experimentação da Unidade Local de Saúde de São José.

In the morning, we hosted the panel Sharing Practices in the Management of Innovation Laboratories and Units with several guest speakers who shared management strategies and innovative practices that are transforming the public sector: Pedro Marcante from GNOVA Lab (ENAP, Brazil), Marta Marçal from NOVA School of Business and Economics (NOVA SBE) and Joana Pais from XLAB – Behavioural Research Lab of the Higher Institute of Economics and Management (ISEG) of the University of Lisbon.

In the afternoon, LabX organised an Anticipatory Innovation exercise ‘Vision 2034: Designing the Future of Public Innovation Labs’, involving participants in creating a future vision of public innovation labs, focused on challenges and opportunities for the next 10 years.
