Exploratory diagnosis sessions with the Social Security
4 September 2023
At the invitation of the Social Security Institute, I.P. (ISS), LabX held three collaborative sessions meant to do a exploratory diagnosis of the challenges in the relationship between citizens and Social Security. It participated 46 managers and senior technicians from the Social Security services, from the north to south of the country. These sessions were held between May and June and opened up the space for the Institute to promote new dynamics of innovation, simplification and participation in its relationship with citizens and companies.
On the 30th of May morning, the inaugural session took place with the Secretary of State for Social Security, Gabriel Bastos, and the President of the ISS, Ana Vasques. In the afternoon, LabX started a collaborative session with all participants to align the objectives and expectations of the initiative. On the 19th and 20th June sessions, by using collaborative dynamics, the problems collected through a previous consultation with citizens were discussed and ideas were generated to improve the relationship between citizens and the Institute.
At the end of this initiative, LabX presented a document informing and supporting the ISS in the definition of future work paths to respond to the challenges it faces in its relationship with citizens. Through a collaborative approach, this reflection and sharing of perspectives done by the ISS employees on common challenges made it possible to open up space for potential innovative projects. Projects that are meant to deepen the knowledge concerning problematic areas highlighted by the exploratory diagnosis, or that follow the clues and ideas generated through this process in order to determine their response potential.
