Matrix for Innovation in Public Services

On October 11, 2024 we presented the vision of the project to build a matrix that aims to support public organisations in using innovation to create value and improve public services – the Matrix for Innovation in Public Services – which we are developing in partnership with the OECD Observatory of Public Sector Innovation (OPSI).
As part of this project, on November 14 we held at the Agency for Administrative Modernisation (AMA) an in-house collaborative session to align the different teams involved with the project’s goals, namely:
- Ensuring the alignment of the design, management and provision of public services in Portugal with national and international benchmarks in the area of public service provision and public sector innovation;
- Monitoring the strategies of public organisations, ensuring that applied innovation improves performance and generates value;
- Improve access and production of solid information about public services, in order to identify opportunities for improvement.
In the session, we addressed fundamental issues such as the review of methodologies and indicators, as well as how this data can be materialised in the development of prototypes of innovative tools to assess impacts, identify opportunities for improvement in services and provide useful information for decision-making on public policies.
Together, we are building a more innovative and efficient future for public services in Portugal!
