LabX Workshop#24: Citizen-Centric Public Services
11 July 2023
The LabX Workshop#24, focused on “Citizen-Centric Public Services”, took place on July 6th, at the AMA facilities, in Lisbon. It gathered 11 members of the Innovators Network, from eight different entities, all of them motivated to learn and discuss possible ways to improve public services.
During the three hours workshop there was room for a more theoretical debate, in which the assumptions of what constitutes a public service were discussed, but there was also a discussion regarding guiding principles to think public services focused on citizens, namely those mentioned in the Guide for Public Services based on Human Rights. Finally, there was also time to combine theory with practice by carrying out several practical exercises.
Based on the LabX approach, which is divided into three essential moments – Research, Co-creation and Experimentation –, throughout Workshop#24 we showcased tools that can easily be used by public entities, in order to put the citizen at the center when (re)designing public services, making them more responsive to the needs and expectations of their end users.
